Khusbhoo and the TN controversy

Anything uttered by Khushboo is apparently taboo in dear old Tamil Nadu nowadays. All that the once-upon-a-time (Try saying that real rapidly) beloved "diva" said was that educated men should no longer expect their wives to be virgin (Umm... no, I don't think we're talking about Olive Oil here!) Hmm.... am I offended by that statement? Let us examine the evidence... I'm certainly educated..... I am most certainly a man (Oh yes, baby!).... so, it completely amazes me that the entire state went up in arms against her.

I just read about some politico dude in TN saying that the plan to eliminate AIDS is the ABC plan (A for abstinence, B for be faithful and C for condoms.) What a moron! A for abstinence is the most un-natural state of things, while B is fine once you’re married, but what happens before marriage is none of anybody’s business! Only the C part seems to make any sense!

This outlines the hypocrisy prevalent in Indian society; men can do whatever they want, while women aren't supposed to! It also underlines one of the major reasons we're not making an impact on the world scene (Yeah, yeah... talk about servicing Software, but what else?) I mean to say, how on Earth are we ever going to evolve (Intelligent Design folk, please excuse this!) if we keep harping back on medieval philosophies? This whole equating sex with morality is absolutely pathetic. The teachings of the Bhagvad Gita, and the Upanishads have been completely misinterpreted by these zealous asses, who've inserted an entire serving of morality into the picture!

Morality is alright for the zealots of Christianity and Islam, and unfortunately enough Hinduism.... it sure as hell has no place in a "Secular" place, as our wonderful "Secular leaders" keep informing us! My final word on this is: it's the people’s choice, if they choose to be virgins or not. Society hawks should just shut the hell up and preferably go to hell! Morality is nice and dandy, but it sure as hell doesn’t belong in the 21st century (or are we still in 1423?)

My first foray into the world of blogging

This is my first foray into the world of blogging. Lately, a lot of things seem to be bothering me, and I figure what better way than to scream them out on the Internet.

Therefore, without much further ado, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, I give you The Blog!

Let the blogging begin!
